We are seeking an experienced Dog Groomer to join our Pet Spa team. This role is ideal for a professional who takes pride in high-quality grooms, clear communication, and protecting the physical and emotional well-being of every pet.

Position Overview

This is a commission-based role reporting to the General Manager.

Our groomers are trusted professionals responsible for:

  • Delivering high-quality, breed-appropriate grooms
  • Maintaining strict safety standards
  • Communicating clearly with pet parents
  • Protecting the health and emotional well-being of every pet
  • Safety and communication are just as important as technical skill.

What You’ll Do

  • Grooming & Safety
  • Perform full grooms, baths, and touch-ups to professional standards
  • Assess coat condition and pet temperament before starting services
  • Never compromise safety for speed or aesthetics
  • Monitor pets closely for signs of stress, injury, or health concerns
  • Follow all handling protocols, especially for senior, anxious, aggressive, or medically sensitive pets
  • Ensure pets have water and potty breaks during longer appointments
  • Maintain safe tool handling and equipment checks daily

Client Communication

  • Conduct thorough meet-and-greets to clarify expectations
  • Explain coat condition, grooming limitations, and realistic outcomes
  • Obtain approval for any additional services or pricing adjustments
  • Provide post-groom updates and report any health observations
  • Respond promptly to client calls and emails
  • Rebook and maintain your client base professionally

Cleanliness & Professional Standards

  • Maintain a sanitized grooming space at all times
  • Sweep hair promptly and clean bathing/drying areas daily
  • Disinfect drying rooms daily and deep disinfect weekly
  • Properly label and identify all pets in your care
  • Communicate clearly with pet care staff regarding pet location and timing
