About Us

At Naked Dog Training, we specialize in delivering functional, real-world obedience with a focus on complete off-leash control, with the dog both enjoying the process of learning AND long term performance for the owqner. Our approach emphasizes calm, consistent handling over force, creating dogs that are confident, responsive, and reliable in any environment.

We work with a wide range of behavioral issues, including aggression, reactivity, and severe obedience challenges. Our clients expect results, we have a unique approach to training, and most importantly, we deliver.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Dog Trainer, experienced in FUNCTIONAL DOG TRAINING, to join our team. This is not an entry-level position. The ideal candidate is confident handling dogs of all temperaments, skilled in client communication, and capable of producing consistent, high-level results.

You will be responsible for training dogs, coaching clients, and upholding the standards and reputation of Naked Dog Training.

A willingness to take dogs home to provide “home care” during their board & train program is a benefit, but not a necessity. Staff who take dogs home are paid directly by the owner $75 a day for the home care. Therefore taking just two dogs home can add $3,000 in additional monthly income for a trainer.

Responsibilities

  • Train dogs in obedience, off-leash reliability, and behavior modification
  • Work with complex cases including aggression and reactivity
  • Conduct private lessons and/or support Board & Train programs
  • Coach clients on proper handling techniques and ensure skill transfer
  • Provide progress updates
  • Represent the brand professionally in public training environments
  • Work collaboratively with team members to maintain training consistency

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3+ years professional dog training experience
  • Experience with remote training, creating and supporting behaviors with food
  • Great rapport skills (not uncomfortable being silly with dogs)
  • Strong understanding of dog behavior, timing, and communication
  • Ability to handle dogs safely and confidently in high-distraction environments
  • Excellent people skills—must be comfortable instructing and guiding clients
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
