Position Overview

Autodesk is reimagining how we enable our global sales, customer success, and partner teams to drive customer value. The Senior Narrative Writer will help shape how our enablement stories are told by transforming business concepts, product narratives, and seller and customer outcomes into engaging, innovative, and impactful documentary-style enablement experiences for our new streaming platform.

In this role, you serve as lead narrative voice behind our enablement content, developing scripts and story' frameworks for primarily video-based experiences, while also contributing written content for courses, coaching scenarios, and supporting materials. You will collaborate with Go to Market Enablement stakeholders, subject matter experts, content designers, producers, and editors to shape content that engages with global audiences and accelerates business impact.

Responsibilities

  • Lead narrative development for enablement content, crafting compelling scripts and story frameworks for video-based experiences
  • Translate complex product, customer, and business concepts into clear, engaging narratives that resonate with global sales, partner, and customer audiences.
  • Write scripts for videos, interviews, explainers, coaching, and episodic enablement and micro-enablement content
  • Comfortable writing in a variety of styles including documentary, scripted role-play, and product-based narrative
  • Partner with creative team members to ensure narrative cohesion from concept through completion
  • Collaborate with enablement program leaders, subject matter experts, content designers, and video team members to shape story-driven enablement experiences
  • Develop narrative arcs that reinforce key enablement objectives optimized for audience engagement
  • Adapt narrative content across multiple formats, including video scripts, course content, playbooks, and PDF resources
  • Ensure storytelling aligns with brand, voice, tone, and Go to Market priorities
  • Contribute to the evolution of modern enablement storytelling practices, incorporating new formats, techniques, and technologies
  • Help guide and edit the output of other writers, ensuring a consistent narrative style and editorial standards

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional writing experience focused on storytelling, narrative development, documentary, or editorial content
  • Demonstrated experience writing scripts for video, documentary-style storytelling, or multimedia content
  • Capability to write scripts and copy in a variety of styles and tones
  • Strong ability to translate complex technical or business topics into engaging narratives for professional audiences
  • Experience developing story-driven content for subject matter experts' insights and real-world examples
  • Excellent collaboration and stakeholder management skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining timely delivery

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience writing for documentary, narrative corporate training, sales enablement, and enterprise environments
  • Background in documentary filmmaking, editorial storytelling, or branded content production
  • Experience adapting content across multiple formats
  • Experience leveraging data and research to drive engaging scripts and content development
  • Ability to balance creative storytelling with structured objectives in a fast-paced environment

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk's competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $70,000 and $125,840. Offers are based on the candidate's experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, our compensation package may include annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
