Job description

Job Duties:

  • Perform high-quality diagnostic X-ray exams using proper techniques and positioning
  • Prepare, position, and assist patients during imaging procedures to ensure comfort and safety
  • Operate and maintain radiologic equipment, ensuring functionality, cleanliness, and calibration
  • Evaluate images for technical quality and follow department protocols for image storage and documentation
  • Accurately document patient information and imaging details in electronic health records (EHR)
  • Apply radiation protection techniques in accordance with regulatory standards and company policy
  • Adhere to infection control and safety procedures at all times
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, radiologists, patients, and other team members
  • Maintain compliance with continuing education and licensing requirements
  • Assist with scheduling, clerical tasks, and workflow coordination as needed
  • Provide hands-on training and mentorship to students during clinical rotations, ensuring competency in imaging procedures, safety protocols, and patient care standards while fostering professionalism, confidence, and skill development.

Education and Experience:

  • Associate's degree or certificate in Radiologic Technology from an accredited program
  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification in Radiography (Required)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Preferred)
  • Valid state license as required by applicable law or regulatory agency
  • 1-2 years of experience as an X-ray Technologist (preferred)
  • Experience in an outpatient or ambulatory care setting is a plus

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficient knowledge of radiologic imaging procedures, anatomy, and patient positioning techniques
  • Skilled in operating radiographic equipment and imaging software (e.g., PACS, RIS, EMR systems)
  • Understanding of radiation safety, ALARA principles, and infection control practices
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with patients, staff, and physicians
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail, accuracy in image capturing, and adherence to documentation protocols
  • Professional demeanor, strong work ethic, and commitment to patient confidentiality
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively under minimal supervision
