Job description

Overview
Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking Construction Inspectors to join our Construction Engineering & Inspection team in Wilmington, NC!
Responsibilities
  • Perform quality control construction observations for various highway roadway and bridge construction, general site work, maintenance and protection of traffic, drainage, earthwork, paving, concrete work, reinforcement steel placement, utility relocation work, coordination, and safety.
  • Read and interpret contract documents and construction plans.
  • Responsible for field construction observation monitoring/tracking of construction sequencing, cost, scheduling and performance decisions.
  • Assure that proper document control, quality assurance documentation and construction project records are kept (including quantity measurements and calculations).
  • Assure quality and uniformity in the records of various contracts in the overall program.

Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in civil engineering technology plus 2 years of progressive transportation inspection experience OR High school diploma/GED plus 4 years of progressive transportation experience required.
  • Prior bridge construction inspection experience preferred.
  • Valid US driver's license required.
  • NCDOT Certifications preferred.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • Strong time management and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of NCDOT road specifications a plus.
  • Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
