Rheumatology Physician Opportunity Near ROCKAWAY PARK, NY

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Rheumatology trained physician to join our healthcare team, dedicated to providing high-quality patient care.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

  • Clinical Experience: 1-3 years of clinical experience in an outpatient setting.
  • Patient-Centered Approach: Exhibit a patient-centered approach toward ensuring a positive patient experience.
  • Communication Skills: Possess excellent communication skills.
  • Interest in Population Health: Display an interest in Population Health.

Responsibilities:

  • Patient Evaluation:
    • Review patients history and perform a physical examination.
    • Evaluate, diagnose, and provide appropriate treatment and patient care.
  • Diagnostic Tests:
    • Recommend and order lab tests, including X-rays of the joints, to determine the extent of illness or help diagnose conditions.
  • Specialized Diagnosis and Treatment:
    • Diagnose disorders and diseases of the musculoskeletal system and immune system.
    • Diagnose and treat rheumatic disorders of the skeletal system, muscles, and joints.
    • Treat patients with rheumatic diseases, including but not limited to lupus, tendonitis, arthritis, myositis, scleroderma, and osteoporosis.
  • Prescription and Management:
    • Prescribe anti-inflammatory drugs and other medications.
    • Formulate ongoing treatment and disease management plans.
  • Referral and Collaboration:
    • Refer to occupational or physical therapy as required.
    • Participate in medical staff educational programs and meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Degree: Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathy (DO), or foreign equivalent.
  • Residency: Completion of three-year postgraduate medical training from a U.S. accredited residency program in Internal Medicine.
  • Fellowship: Completion of a Rheumatology Fellowship.
  • Certification: Board Eligible/Board Certified in Rheumatology.
  • Licensure: Candidate must possess or be eligible for a New York State License.
  • Registration: Be eligible for DEA registration.
  • Reimbursement: Be eligible for Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement.
  • Certification: BLS or ACLS certification required but both strongly preferred.
  • Communication Skills: Must possess strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Technology Comfort: Comfortable with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system and Microsoft Office.

Medical Office Hours of Operation:

  • Monday-Wednesday: 8:00 AM 6:00 PM
  • Thursday: 8:00 AM 8:00 PM
  • Friday: 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
