The Dock Experts is seeking a Drafter that plays a critical role in transforming conceptual project designs into precise technical drawings and permit-ready documentation for seawalls, docks, boat lifts, and other shoreline structures. This position supports the engineering, permitting, and construction teams by ensuring that all plans meet regulatory, environmental, and client specifications.
An ideal candidate combines technical accuracy, practical field understanding, and creative problem solving to help advance the company's commitment to sustainable, innovative, and buildable marine infrastructure solutions.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
DRAFTING & DESIGN
  • Produce detailed CAD drawings, plan sets, and 3D visualizations for docks, seawalls, boat lifts, and marine accessories.
  • Convert field measurements, sketch sheets, survey data, and engineer mark-ups into construction-ready drawings.
  • Maintain design libraries and standardized CAD templates to improve consistency across projects and branches.

PROJECT COORDINATION & COLLABORATION
  • Work closely with sales, operations, and production managers to align design intent with scope, constructability, and client expectations.
  • Participate in project kickoff and review meetings to confirm technical accuracy and feasibility.
  • Provide revisions or alternate solutions as needed during construction or permitting review.

INNOVATION & CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
  • Identify opportunities to improve drafting workflows, including use of digital modeling, cloud-based collaboration tools, or automated templates.
  • Incorporate sustainable and long-life material design practices in line with company environmental objectives.
  • Contribute to product standardization initiatives and R&D efforts for new marine systems or materials.

ESSENTIAL JOB, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, or equivalent marine/construction drafting software
  • Experience with permitting documentation and marine or coastal projects
  • Familiarity with South Florida marine conditions, materials (concrete, composite, PVC, aluminum), and coastal construction standards
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and communication skills
  • Conversational in English

Work Environment
  • Onsite -Monday -Friday 8:00 A:M -4:30 PM
