Job Description: The Linux/UNIX System Administrator will manage and maintain Linux-based systems, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability. This role involves managing system resources, performing proactive system maintenance, troubleshooting system issues, and supporting cloud-based Linux environments. The administrator will also provide guidance and training to junior team members and assist with system migrations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer Linux/UNIX-based systems, including RedHat and Solaris, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Perform proactive space management, scalability improvements, and implement high-availability strategies.
  • Support system migrations, including physical-to-virtual conversions and cloud integrations.
  • Implement backup and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Troubleshoot complex system issues and perform root cause analysis to ensure system uptime.
  • Develop and document scripts for automation of administrative tasks.
  • Assist in the development of IT infrastructure replacement plans and hardware refresh cycles.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in Linux/UNIX system administration.
  • Strong knowledge of RedHat 7.x, Solaris, and other Linux variants.
  • Certifications: Security+ required, RHCSA, RHCE (Red Hat Certified Engineer) preferred.
  • Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
  • Top Secret Clearance 
  • IAT Level 2
  • Oracle (Solaris) Certified Associate and/or Red Hat Certified System Administrator
