Job description

This position is responsible for the performing and staging in the Shipping Dock Area. As directed this position will stage upcoming shipments at night within the warehouse based on orders and inventories available. This may include movement of inventory, raw materials and loading outgoing finished goods onto trucks for outbound shipments. Keep area in compliance of safety and cleanliness per overall warehouse requirements through the following ISO 9001, PEFC, FSC and Food Safety programs.

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Set up and stage upcoming loads based on orders and inventories available.
  • Must be able to drive a forklift and set up staging area.
  • Must be able to successfully and safely load trucks as needed.
  • Organize loads in dock areas to keep a safe and organized staging area at all times.
  • Ability to take direction and set up specific orders by checking product numbers, may include documentation and recordkeeping duties, use of scanner, etc.
  • Maintain dock and warehouse areas by sweeping mopping or removing trash and materials in the assigned dock areas including outside parking lot as needed.
  • May assist with monitoring and reporting daily inventories.
  • Report and perform daily forklift safety inspection on forklift.
  • Report and track all internal warehouse damage daily.
  • May assist with daily shipping and receiving paperwork and reporting.
  • Other duties and/or items as assigned by supervisor or management

Communications:

  • Effectively communicates with other members of the warehouse team, incoming customer agents, office personnel and Customers.

Customer Service/Quality:

  • Maintain Texas Tissues high standards of customer service by providing quality service of loading and unloading product

Technical:

  • Ability to set up monitor safety checks and inspections on Forklifts. Ability to perform minor preventative maintenance on forklift.

Safety:

  • Knowledge of forklift safety and forklift operations.
  • Ability to operate a forklift safely and continuously perform stacking and unstacking of loads.

Ability to follow company safety policies and use safety devices as required

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent Safe Forklift Safety Standards
  • Excellent Forklift Skills.
  • Ability to load trucks.
  • Extremely high attention to detail.
  • Must be able to complete duties with minimal supervision.
  • Must have sound judgment skills and the ability to make decisions based on data.
  • Ability to count and track products.
  • Should have the ability to interact and communicate with coworkers, operator, helpers and supervisor.
  • Ability to operate forklift.

Working environment:

  • This is an indoor climate-controlled manufacturing facility
  • Steel Toe Shoes required to be worn at all times

Physical ability and demand:

  • Must be able to lift, sit, stand or walk for long period of times. Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a sedentary or movement type work.
