Summary:

The Branch Team Member plays a crucial role in supporting our purpose of creating lasting value for those we serve by performing a collection of tasks to support the branch location and serve as a resource for our customers. This position may serve one or a combination of the following functions for the branch location; counter support, delivery services, and a variety of warehouse duties. Regardless of the function being performed, this individual always displays excellent customer service skills and a commitment to quality and efficiency. This individual promotes our culture, our 5 P's and our purpose to create lasting value for those we serve.


Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

  • Service a diversity of customers by providing projects or information on products or services
  • Estimate date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own vendor's production and delivery schedule
  • Communicate effectively with department leads and branches on all job related issues
  • Provide project demonstrations to qualified customers on request
  • May be responsible for customer courtesy items
  • Build and maintain customer relationships
  • Emphasize salable features, quote prices and credit terms, and prepare sales orders for orders obtained
  • Promote profitability and sales growth initiatives
  • Load and unload the vehicle in a safe and efficient manner
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and initiatives
  • Support team members by participating in team lifts
  • Deliver products to local customers
  • Maintain compliance with all Department of Transportation requirements
  • Maintain vehicle, counter area, displays and warehouse dock cleanliness and order
  • Maintain Will-Call orders, which may include calling customers, canceling old orders, etc.
  • Picks customer orders using an RF scanner, wire cutting equipment, motorized cart and/or fork lift
  • Pick, prepare, ship or receive orders in an efficient and accurate manner
  • Cross-train in all departments of warehouse
  • Facilitate the returns process
  • Perform cycle counts, maintain inventory integrity and location accuracy
  • Participate in warehouse process improvements
  • Provide coverage in areas of the warehouse in which staffing is low and work level is high

Job Requirements/Specifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Previous distribution experience preferred
  • Previous customer service experience preferred
  • Ability to lift 100 lbs
  • Able to meet and maintain qualifications required by DOT
  • Demonstrated computer skills
  • Able to work with Excel documents
  • Class B CDL preferred; in some locations it is required
  • Knowledge of Eclipse preferred
  • Knowledge of handheld RF scanner is a plus
  • Ability to operate lift truck equipment
