Our research group studies tissue engineering of multicellular systems with a special focus on mechanobiology. The research scholar will participate in research projects aimed to study how mechanical regulations influence tissue formation during development using cutting-edge techniques in molecular biology, optogenetics, microscopy and imaging in bacteria, fruit-flies and mammalian cells systems. The candidate will be responsible for setting up experimental procedures and protocols and will also participate in regular meetings with the PI and other lab members.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop optogenetic tools to manipulate protein activity and gene transcription.
  • Utilize molecular biology approaches working with DNA.
  • Generate vectors for gene insertion and editing
  • Perform cell culture (mammalian cell lines, stem cells)
  • Learn and perform various imaging techniques including confocal microscopy and image analyses of time-lapse image sequences.
  • Contribute to general lab organization including accurate documentation and recording/maintenance of large data files.
  • Present
