Starting Pay: $20/hour + commissionsย 

UMV is a private, employee-owned company contracted with the Alaska DMV to process vehicle related transactions and identification services. Our team helpsย eliminateย long DMV lines by providing fast,ย accurate, and friendly service to Alaskans.ย 

This role is ideal for a professional willing to fill a supporting role while also engaging with clients andย utilizingย computers toย completeย basic DMV transactions.ย 

Success in this role requires attention to detail, a strong focus onย teamworkย and a commitment to accuracy and compliance.

Whoย Weโ€™reย Looking Forย 

Successful UMV team members typically have:ย 

  • Experience handling payments or financial transactionsย 
  • Strong attention to detail when reviewing documentsย 
  • Comfort using multiple computer systems simultaneously (40+ WPM preferred)ย 
  • Ability to stay organized andย accurateย in busy environmentsย 
  • Willingness to support a team effortย 
  • Confidence suggestingย additionalย services when appropriateย

Minimumย Requirementsย 

  • At least 18 years of ageย 
  • High school diploma or equivalentย 
  • Valid Alaska driver's license or IDย 
  • Experience using computers toย assistย customersย 
  • Ability to multitask whileย maintainingย accuracyย 
  • Ability to stand forย long periodsย andย lift upย to 50 lbs.ย 

What You Will Be Doingย 

You willย assistย the team withย additionalย tasks, engage with clientsย in theย lobbyย and process basic transactions whileย maintainingย high accuracy and professionalism.ย 

This position combines the transaction accuracy of a bank teller with the customer service of a hotel front desk professional.ย 

Daily responsibilities include:ย 

  • Supporting the teamย byย taking photos, laminatingย documentsย and other tasksย 
  • Processingย basic DMV related transactionsย 
  • Reviewing legal documents to ensure compliance with DMV regulationsย 
  • Using multiple computer systems to complete transactionsย 
  • Processing payments through a point-of-sale systemย 
  • Offering customersย additionalย services beyond the basic DMV transactionย 

Accuracy & Compliance Expectationsย 

Because UMV processes official DMV records:ย 

  • Work is audited internally and by the Alaska DMVย 
  • UMVโ€™s accuracy standard is 98%ย 

Scheduleย 

  • May be adjusted for seasonal employeesย 
  • Full-time (40 hoursย per week) with some overtime as neededย 
  • Office hours: Monday โ€“ Saturday, 8:45 AM โ€“ 6:00 PMย 
  • Sunday is always offย 
  • Second day off varies based on schedule rotationย 
  • Schedules posted monthlyย 
  • The length of employment will be between May and September. Employment end date will beย determinedย by customer volume and will be coordinated with the manager.ย
