Job description

Are you looking to start a career in healthcare? Are you a compassionate, motivated person who loves to help people? Join us at DMC Primary Care as a Patient Care Liaison!
As a Patient Care Liaison (PCL), you will be an important member of the health care delivery team, focusing on delivering high-quality administrative tasks in close collaboration with our clinical care teams. Experience in a medical office is preferred, but a positive, can-do attitude, a willingness to learn, and a genuine desire to help patients is even more important to us. The successful candidate must be able to multi-task under pressure and always deliver patient service with the highest level of professionalism.
The successful candidate for this full-time position will split their time between our Raymond and Windham clinics, Monday - Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Following are some of the duties of a PCL (this is not an all-inclusive list):
  • Monitor and sort EMR (Electronic Medical Record) messages to assure timely completion of messages in accordance with DMC Policies & Procedures.
  • Relay results to patients including labs, imaging, and other testing.
  • Helps patients obtain referrals, and refills as clinically indicated.
  • Enter imaging, and lab orders under the direction of a licensed medical provider, following established DMC guidelines.
  • Coordinate the scheduling of appointments at DMC and also with specialists and outside facilities.
  • Communicate with patients via all patient communication platforms, according to patient preference.
  • Document all patient communication appropriately using professional etiquette and technique.
  • Take an active role in gaining and maintaining proficiency in Allscripts EMR system, clinic flow, and documentation standards.
  • Possess high-level organizational skills and ability to multi-task and work under pressure, while presenting a calm, professional manner and positive attitude.

Experience and Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • One year of experience in an administrative or clinical position in a medical office is preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
