Overview

VTG is seeking a Full Stack Software Developer to support the maintenance, modernization, and enhancement of existing software applications. This role will work closely with the Lead Developer to design, develop, test, and deliver full-stack application capabilities across the data layer, application logic, APIs, and user interface.


What will you do?
  • Work closely with the Lead Developer to maintain, enhance, and modernize existing software applications.
  • Participate in application design and implement solutions across the full technology stack, including the data layer, application code, APIs, and user interface.
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services and application functionality using Python.
  • Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and integrate applications with external software systems and databases.
  • Build and enhance responsive user interfaces using modern JavaScript frameworks and web technologies.
  • Develop and maintain unit and integration tests to ensure application reliability, performance, and quality.
  • Work with relational databases and Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) technologies.
  • Support the development, containerization, and deployment of applications within AWS environments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve application, integration, and deployment issues.
  • Collaborate with developers and other technical stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Contribute to technical documentation, code reviews, and software development best practices.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5–7 years of professional Python software development experience.

  • 2–3 years of experience working with SQL and relational databases.
  • Familiarity with SQLAlchemy or similar ORM technologies.
  • 6 months–3 years of experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, and CSS.
  • 6 months–3 years of experience with a modern front-end framework such as React, Angular, or Vue.
  • 1–3 years of experience developing applications in AWS environments.
  • Experience building, containerizing, and deploying software applications.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a Lead Developer and other technical team members.
