Job description

Position Overview:

Supporting the Game Presentation team, the Assistant DJ works alongside the Primary DJ to develop an engaging and lively fan experience through music. This role will assist with the execution of the in-arena music program during select preseason, regular season, and playoff home games.

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a secondary DJ and perform music during select preseason, regular season, and playoff home games, as assigned.
  • Be prepared to assume primary DJ responsibilities when needed, including covering games or portions of games in the absence of the Primary DJ.
  • Maintain awareness of game play, crowd energy, and in-game cues to help deliver timely and appropriate music selections.
  • Play music for in-game promotions, entertainment elements, timeouts, breaks in play, and other Game Presentation moments.
  • Attend pre-game meetings and rehearsals with the Game Presentation team to support the successful execution of all game presentation elements.
  • Represent the organization at community, season ticket member, and sponsor events.
  • Stay current on music trends, popular culture, and audience preferences to help create a fresh and engaging game-day experience.
  • Assistant DJ will hold themselves in a professional manner in all interactions with staff, guests, and the public, including activity across social media channels.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of major market or live event DJing experience preferred (game entertainment a plus).
  • Available for select home games and select appearances, with flexibility for nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Knowledge of the Washington Wizards and NBA rules preferred.
  • Proficiency with sophisticated audio equipment including soundboards, mixers, and microphones.
  • Adaptable, coachable, and highly motivated self-starter.
  • Creative, high-energy personality comfortable in fast-paced environments.
Pay Rate: $80.00 USD/hour
