Job description

THE ROLE
The Lower School Associate Teacher supports lead teachers in creating a joyful, structured, and academically rigorous classroom for scholars in Grades 3 & 4. You will help ensure scholars master foundational skills through small-group reading instruction, classroom support, and relationship-building that nurtures both learning and character.


THE PERSON
As a Lower School Associate Teacher, you will:
Support daily instruction by reinforcing the lead teacher's lesson plans
Lead small groups and provide one-on-one support to scholars
Assist with classroom management and reinforce consistent routines
Track student progress and communicate observations to the lead teacher
Support scholars with lifework, transitions, and interventions
Collaborate with teachers, instructional coaches, and school staff
Communicate positively and professionally with families when needed
Participate in professional learning, school events, and traditions


THE MUST HAVES

Prior Experience
Experience working with elementary-aged scholars (classroom, tutoring, childcare, or similar)
Ability to support classroom management and follow instructional guidance
Commitment to high expectations and equity for all scholars


Education
Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred
Teaching certification or paraprofessional license is a plus but not required
