Job Title: Afterschool Program Leader Wage/Hour Status: Hourly
Reports to: Principal/Assistant Principal Dept. /School: Elementary
Primary Purpose:
To provide students with academic support, social-emotional learning opportunities, enrichment activities, and a safe and structured environment that supports the needs of the whole child.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High School Diploma or GED
Speak, read, and write fluent English
Associate or bachelor's degree in education (preferred)
Special Knowledge/Skills
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Ability to plan, implement, and manage engaging academic, enrichment, and social-emotional activities
- Ability to manage behavior using positive reinforcement and conflict-resolution strategies
- Demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate in English with district employees, parents, and students
Experience
One year's experience working with children in an educational, recreational, or
afterschool setting (preferred)
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Oversee daily activities, ensuring a safe, structured, and positive environment for students.
- Organize and implement academic support, enrichment, social-emotional, and recreational activities.
- Monitor student participation and provide mentoring and behavior management as needed.
- Maintain regular communication with parents, school staff, and administrators about student progress and program updates.
- Uphold and adhere to the school districts' safety rules, policies, and program requirements, including attendance tracking and documentation.

Posture: Prolonged sitting and/or standing; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)

Hourly Rate: $17.00
Shift Type: Part-Time Monday-Thursday 3 PM-5 PM
