Job Title

Process Improvement Engineer

Position Overview

Are you passionate about solving problems, improving processes, and driving measurable business results? Shaw Industries is seeking a Process Improvement Engineer to help lead operational excellence initiatives at Plant 70 in Bainbridge, GA.

In this role, you'll partner closely with plant leadership to identify opportunities, reduce costs, improve efficiency, minimize waste, and support strategic capital projects. You'll have the opportunity to apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles while influencing change across a dynamic manufacturing environment.

What You'll Do
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives that enhance productivity, efficiency, quality, and cost performance.
  • Identify, prioritize, and drive cost-saving opportunities while developing annual cost-reduction strategies.
  • Utilize Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to eliminate waste and improve operational performance.
  • Coach and mentor leaders on Green Belt and Black Belt improvement projects.
  • Lead process and landfill waste reduction initiatives and support sustainability efforts through recycling and waste stream management.
  • Analyze manufacturing processes using data, observations, and time studies to recommend and implement improvements.
  • Support the planning, justification, and execution of capital and expense projects, including equipment upgrades and process enhancements.
  • Assist with annual capital planning and plant budgeting processes.
  • Collaborate on facility and department layout improvements to optimize workflow and operational efficiency.
  • Analyze cost variances and develop action plans to improve financial performance.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and work independently to drive results.
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Manufacturing, industrial engineering, or continuous improvement experience preferred.
  • Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma knowledge required.
  • Black Belt certification preferred or willingness to complete Black Belt training.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to effectively influence, engage, and build relationships across all levels of the organization.
