The Walt Disney Company's Direct-To-Consumer and International (DTCI) is a new, global business segment for The Walt Disney Company with the mission of providing consumers around the world access to the content they want most, on the latest platforms, at a time of rapidly-evolving consumer habits. Combining the Company's direct-to-consumer streaming services - ESPN+, Disney+, Hulu and Hotstar -- alongside Disney's international media businesses, DTCI aligns cutting-edge technology with world-class content and beloved brands to expand the Company's global footprint and deliver highly-personalized entertainment experiences to diverse consumers around the world.

The Manager of Distribution Planning & Analysis will be a leader in executing TWDC's distribution strategy around the world, by licensing content to global SVOD and AVOD platforms. This role will partner with Content Sales, International Sales, Legal, Finance, Operations, Marketing, and Accounting to develop and execute deal strategy, optimize content licensing activity and manage post deal administration.

Manage deal analysis and post-sale deal management for Global and multi-region on-demand clients (AVOD, SVOD, etc.)

  • Support multiple stakeholders including TWDC's Sales team, Business Operations, Legal, Finance and Accounting in all licenses of TWDC content to Global and multi-region SVOD clients, both pre-sale and post-sale. Account and Territory responsibilities will shift depending on deal and management priorities.
  • Provide accurate and timely availability of all content (films & series) for third party licensing, respecting complex holdbacks and restrictions stemming from existing licenses, underlying rights and/or music issues, various MVPD/BDU restrictions, and availability of assets.
  • Provide robust deal analysis and content valuation (e.g., financial counters, comps) for all such deals, in collaboration with internal stakeholders in each territory.
  • Prepare deal and negotiation summaries for senior executive decision support.
  • Administer and manage all such deals in TWDC's rights management system; manage all post-entry workstreams, e.g., draft and send notices (start dates, new seasons, etc.), license fee calculations, preparing invoice backups, asset delivery, etc.
  • Access avails and sales history reports on an ad hoc basis for senior management, audits, finance.
  • Track options, deal expirations.
  • Liaise with servicing team and business operations on delivery of assets to clients.

Actively manage deal servicing and execution for local cable channels in TWDC joint venture in India:

  • Manage & prepare yearly availability reports for content available to branded cable channels (i.e. Disney Channel, National Geographic, etc.)
  • Track current content pipeline to inform local teams of additions and changes to yearly slates
  • Partner with content management, US programming and operations to offer titles timely and accurately to our partners

Strategic Projects:

  • Create analysis and presentation materials for ad hoc strategy projects (e.g., alternative distribution strategies, new business models, senior executive and client requests).
  • Work with finance and planning on ultimates, annual operating plans, and long-range plan presentations.
  • Partner with research and insights team to track market trends to support the content licensing business.

Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training:

  • 5+ years in the media & entertainment industry
  • 3+ years of direct experience with media distribution
  • 1+ years of management experience
  • Strong facility with contractual interpretation and analysis
  • Proven track record in effectively managing and building strong relationships with a broad array of stakeholders
  • Highly organized with the ability to work and lead projects across multiple teams
The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $112,700 to $183,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
