Overhead Distribution

Location options include FL, IN, AR and TX

Schedule varies depending on location. Can be hitch work such as 8 days on 6 days off, 16 on 8 off, 10 on 4 off or 5-10's.

$850-$150 per diem per day worked depending on location

$200-250 per week travel pay in some locations in FL and some locations in IN only

Foreman performs highly skilled, journey-level distribution, transmission, and/or substation electrical work in the installation, construction, maintenance, and repair of underground and overhead electric distribution and/or transmission lines, substations, transformers, meters, metering equipment, electrical substations, and related equipment. This class is responsible for performing related duties as required. Must possess capabilities of lower classifications. Supervises four or more employees in the performance of service.

Climbs power poles, splicing and making repairs to energized lines; constructs new overhead and/or underground lines, setting poles, installing cross arms and brackets, stringing wire, and placing equipment such as transformers, switches, cut-outs, lightning arrestors and insulators; as a member of a line crew performs switching operations; runs new service lines from pole to consumer's premises; reconstructs existing lines and related fittings; phases out and cuts in new circuits; pulls slack out of primary and secondary wires; tests poles, lines and other facilities; trims trees to clear wires; installs, maintains and repairs electrical underground distribution equipment such as conduit duct systems, boxes, and vaults, switches, capacitors, transformers, street lights, concrete foundations; installs electrical cable in ducts or direct burial; installs cable risers; splices and terminates non-leaded high voltage cables; drives trucks and operates associated equipment as assigned; assists in the instruction and training of all crew lineman and does related work as required.

Crew administration, equipment management, leadership, compliance to safety performance standards, required completion of safety training program, CPR, First-Aid, Bucket and Pole Top Rescue, competition of cover up course, critical review and recommendations from Operations, Safety and Training. Conduct safety tailgate meetings with crew, complete all required paperwork JSA's, incident reports, vehicle inspections, safety reports. Know and understand DOT and OSHA standards. Plan and orchestrate assigned service.
