Raytheon is seeking electrical engineering summer interns looking for a career in analog electronics, power electronics, power systems and servo/motor control systems. The ideal candidate possesses strong desire to further their knowledge of analog electronics, power electronics, power systems or servo/motor control systems.
Raytheon radar analog and power design, product and production support engineering occurs in following areas:
  • Power System Design - Power System Noise, System Simulation and Modeling, Solid State Transmitters, Tube Transmitters, High Voltage Design, Power Sources, Generators
  • Power Conversion - AC/DC, DC/DC and DC/AC, Linear and Switching Supplies, Power Factor Correction (PFC), Zero Voltage Switching (ZVS), Resonant Circuits, Synchronization, Noise Controls
  • Power Distribution - Ground, Air, Shipboard, and Space, Power Generation, Line Voltage, High Current, Low Voltage, Micro-Power, DC, AC, Multi-Phase Power Control, Fault Reporting, Isolation, Protection Circuits, Redundant Systems
  • Power Sub-System Design - Filters, Harmonic Control, EMI, Circuit Simulation, Magnetics, Protective Relay Systems, Short Circuit and Stress Analyses
  • Control Systems - Servo Control Systems, Motor/Power/Process Control, Digital Feedback Systems, Command Generation, Inertial Stabilization, Navigation Algorithms

What You Will Do:
  • Work closely with a team of engineers to develop designs based on requirements, operational specifications, and RTX guidelines
  • Design, analyze, simulate, test, and document power conversion, analog circuitry, or servo/motor control systems
  • Provide support to production, integration, and test activities
  • Gain exposure to analog, power, or motor/servo control engineering design
  • Travel to Marlborough, MA; Andover, MA; Woburn, MA; and/or Pelham, NH may be required depending on the assignment.

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor's or Graduate degree majoring in Electrical Engineering, or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major.
  • Must have a minimum of 30 hours of credit by the start of the internship / co-op session.
  • Coursework in the following areas: Basic Circuit Theory, Signals and Systems, Physics: Electronics and Electromagnetism.
  • Coursework in modeling and simulation using PSPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, or similar computer-based tools.

Qualifications We Prefer:
  • ABET is the preferred, although not required accreditation standard.
  • 3.0 cumulative GPA desired.
  • Coursework in Microcircuits, Semiconductor Device Theory, Power Electronics/Systems, Control Systems
  • Hardware development experience
  • Knowledge of test and production methods for electronics/power system components

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
