PACCAR'S Information Technology Division (ITD) is located in Renton, WA, utilizes cutting-edge technology to provide systems development, consulting, voice and data communications servicesto the entire corperation, which has high visibility in the technology sector.
About the Team & Role
We are looking for a curious, creative, and motivated individual that is passionate about developing software solutions for automotive industry. During your internship with PACCAR, you will have the opportunity to explore cutting edge technologies and work with highly technical teams. Our internship program is designed to give you real world experience and develop skills to succeed in software engineering for automotive industry.
Job Responsibilities & Projects
  • Will work closely with a mentor throughout the duration of the internship
  • Design and develop new features for customer facing software application
  • Gain intensive hands-on experience in Design, Implement, Test and Ship production ready software solutions
  • Learn and apply Agile Software Development methods and techniques
  • Opportunity to work with senior developers on applications related to Distributed Applications (Manufacturing, Materials, Sales, Marketing, and more), while implementing engineering and architectural practices, principles, and patterns
  • Will have a development plan designed to introduce and teach themselves the key skills needed to be successful in the internship

Required Experience & Skills
  • Foundational Computer Science knowledge gained through coursework, academic projects, internships, or other relevant experience
  • Programming knowledge/skills in the following technology, but not limited to:
    • C# / ASP.NET and .NET MVC
    • Python
    • React
    • RESTful APIs and API management
    • Docker and containerization
    • Microservices architecture
    • Cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure or AWS)
    • DevOps and CI/CD (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions)
    • Database technologies (MS SQL)
    • FTP/SFTP and file integration technologies
    • Development using Artificial Intelligence (AI)
  • Experience using Git/GitHub or Visual Studio is preferred
  • Strong problem solving and communication skills with positive attitude
  • Embodies and promotes PACCAR ITD values of Teamwork, Continuous Improvement, Commitment, Openness and Learning
  • A Senior is preferred

Education
Preferred completed Undergraduate/Graduate degree in Computer Science or related field.
