Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in West Palm Beach, FL that is seeking a Distribution Design Engineer.
Responsibilities:
* Under general supervision, provides project management and design services for distribution facilities as required
* Applies diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to broad variety of assignments and related fields
* Acts as a single point of contact for projects in the areas service territory
* Makes decisions independently regarding engineering complexities and methods
* Responsible for proactive and reactive communication pertaining to project scope until customer is ultimately satisfied
* Performing work order assessment and for completing the most complex of designs to meet internal/external customer needs and valid FPL requirements
* Coordinates planning, organization and implementation of engineering projects with other operating or engineering units to facilitate assignment completion
* Producing a resource estimate, (i.e. man-hours, materials, work type) necessary to execute the work
* Evaluating distribution system capability to serve new load while understanding and mitigating potential future impacts of the new load
* Provide and maintain cost-effective design while considering the impact to the customer and valid customer requests
* Project management, design, estimating, negotiations, performance tracking and reporting
* Responsible for all aspects of engineering design and permitting
* Work with other department within the organization to establish customer requirements and project cost
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in related field of study or High School Diploma/GED and equivalent work experience
* Master's degree in related field of study is preferred
* Electric Power Technology Certification
* 3+ years of experience in a combination of the following areas: Distribution/Utility; Customer interactions and negotiations
* Advanced ability with integrity and compliance, and professional skills
* Competent ability with analysis and problem solving, commercial, communications, process/project management, and leadership skills
* Must be highly knowledgeable and proficient in the design of the Distribution System, both in new construction and maintenance activities
* Ability to meet attendance and storm duty requirements
* Ability to work extended hours
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
