Job Description

We are seeking a Software Engineer III to join our GRIDScalerย team. The ideal candidate will be a highly experienced engineer with deep expertise inย distributed systems, storage, observability, and Linux internals. This role demands strong hands-on development skills inย Go, Rust, and Python, coupled with the ability toย design system architecture, lead technical initiatives, and mentor engineers. The candidate will also drive efforts inย telemetry, monitoring, APIs, and developer tooling, ensuring the GRIDScaler product continues to scale for enterprise and HPC environments.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, design, and reviewย complex software systems and frameworks for scalability, performance, and reliability.
  • Provideย technical leadership and mentorshipย to engineers across multiple teams and geographies.
  • Define and implementย long-term product and system architecture strategies, including telemetry, observability, and monitoring solutions.
  • Develop and guide implementation ofย CLI tools, REST APIs, and automation frameworksย for internal and external use.
  • Own theย design and integration of telemetry and monitoring pipelinesย (e.g., OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, custom agents).
  • Collaborate with product management and engineering managers toย translate requirements into technical roadmaps and architecture designs.
  • Oversee and reviewย code quality, testing practices, and CI/CD pipelinesย (Jenkins or equivalent).
  • Leadย complex debugging and performance tuningย efforts in distributed and storage systems.
  • Represent the team inย cross-functional technical discussionsย with customers, partners, and executive stakeholders.
  • Contribute to and validateย technical documentation and architectural design documents.

Qualifications

  • BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field withย 10+ yearsย of software engineering experience (with at leastย 3+ years in technical leadership/architect role).
  • Proven expertise inย Linux system programmingย and strong understanding ofย Linux internals.
  • Deep hands-on programming experience withย Golang, Rust, and Python.
  • Strong background inย distributed systems, storage systems, HPC, or parallel file systemsย (e.g., IBM Spectrum Scale (GPFS), Lustre, Ceph).
  • Experience designingย telemetry, observability, and monitoring frameworksย for large-scale distributed products.
  • Expertise in buildingย scalable APIs and developer-facing CLI tools.
  • Familiarity withย cloud-native architecturesย (Kubernetes, containers, microservices) and deployment onย AWS, Azure, or hybrid cloudย environments is highly desirable.
  • Solid knowledge ofย CI/CD systemsย (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI) and modern DevOps workflows.
  • Strong leadership skills: ability toย mentor, influence technical direction, and make architecture decisions.
  • Exceptional debugging, performance analysis, and problem-solving skills in complex distributed environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability toย articulate technical vision to engineers and leadership.
