| Work Environment | Laboratories, manufacturing plants, or refineries involving process operations | Laboratories, manufacturing facilities, and industrial settings |
| Industry Usage | Primarily in chemical, petroleum, and beverage industries | Across chemical, pharmaceutical, and manufacturing industries |
Distillation involves operating and maintaining distillation equipment to separate mixtures, often requiring specialized training. Chemical Technicians support laboratory and production processes, including testing and quality control. While both roles work in chemical environments, distillation focuses on process operation, whereas Chemical Technicians handle broader laboratory tasks.
