This position is responsible for the daily plant operation functions associated with the production of fuel ethanol and associated co-products.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform processing functions in the cook, distillation, energy center and/or distributed control system (DCS) areas of ethanol production with assistance
  • Perform activities relating to processing functions such as corn grinding and cook operations, yeast and fermentation quality control, yeast, distillation, evaporation, dryer and boiler operations
  • Monitor production processes and adjust equipment settings or raw materials inputs as directed to ensure the optimal efficiency in the production process
  • Perform general product sampling, lab testing, document results, and report findings to crew leadership and/or laboratory personnel
  • Maintain documentation and record key production data as directed
  • Operate various types of mobile equipment
  • Perform general housekeeping tasks

Education & Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred
  • 0-2 years' relevant experience required
  • Basic computer operation and data entry skills
  • Ability to operate mobile equipment and/or a valid driver's license preferred
  • Previous production experience preferred

Physical Requirements and Working Environment
  • Work is performed in a 24x7 Ethanol production facility
  • Production team works 12-hour shifts; two small crews scheduled per day, includes a day and night shift.
  • Work schedule includes weekend and holiday work. Shift assignment will be consistent. Must be flexible to work either day or night shift based on business needs. Night shift assignment receives a night shift differential.
  • This position involves frequent exposure to adverse weather conditions, dust, fumes, noise, and potentially hazardous material
  • Must be willing and able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds as needed
  • Some work performed in heights
