Job Description
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITIONThe role of the part-time adult education instructor is to offer instruction and materials to help the adult education student make basic educational gains in the subject areas of reading, math, and language, as well as help the student earn his/her high school diploma. The instructor is also expected to provide instruction in basic employability skills, including digital and financial literacy.
This position will be located at the Augusta Public Library, with occasional travel to the Searcy Campus. This is an 8-10 hour per week position and will typically work 2 days per week.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Instruct students in the adult education classroom, create student learning plans, develop and teach group lessons and activities, making sure to align instruction with current CCR standards.
  2. Administer the TABE pre- and post-tests for all students, including completion of all intake paperwork and other documentation as needed.
  3. Enroll students in the online learning platform and follow up on their progress weekly.
  4. Turn in pre-/post- test paperwork for all students, and communicate with the testing administrator weekly.
  5. Research new methods/materials to assist with student learning, making sure these support the CCR standards required to make educational gains and earn the high school diploma.

Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
