Job description
Jannetides College of Business, Communication & Leadership invites applications for a full-time professor in Organizational Leadership. Rank will be commensurate with the candidate's experience. This position will support the PhD in Organizational Leadership and Doctorate in Strategic Leadership, including service on dissertation and project committees. Applicants must be committed to teaching in both traditional classroom, online, and hybrid delivery formats. This is an on-campus faculty position located at our Lakeland campus. The position is full-time for a 12-month academic year beginning August 1, 2026. An earned doctorate in the field and a track record of published scholarship, executive coaching, and/or organizational consulting are required. Preference is given to applicants with graduate teaching, dissertation committee, and leadership experience. The normal teaching load is 27 hours per year. Other duties may include teaching undergraduate or master's courses, service on committees as assigned by the Chair or Dean, student advising and mentoring, and service to the community and academic profession. Eligibility to work in the U.S.
Starting Date: The appointment carries a full-time, one year contract from August 1, 2026 through July 31, 2027.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to Chair of Graduate Studies, Jannetides College of Business, Communication & Leadership
Supervisory Responsibility: May supervise some graduate assistants, teaching assistants or other student employees.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES - May include, but is not limited to the following:
- Teach face-to-face, online, and hybrid courses at the graduate and possibly undergraduate level
- Advise and mentor graduate students
- Serve on dissertation and capstone project committees
- Serve on department and university committees
- Demonstrate professionalism and integrity
- Perform additional duties and functions as assigned by the Chair or Dean
ADDITIONAL/NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES
All remaining duties are considered "nonessential" within the context of the ADA, which means that the function could be reassigned to another employee in order to allow a disabled individual to hold the position. Alternatively, the manager could try to provide a reasonable accommodation so that the disabled individual could perform the function.

EDUCATION
Required Education:
- An earned doctorate in Organizational Leadership, Management, or a related field.
Preferred Education:
- Experience developing and teaching doctoral-level courses
EXPERIENCE (Teaching or Industry)
Required:
- At least five (5) years of related industry business/organizational leadership experience.
- History of advising and mentoring graduate students
- Evidence of successful experience teaching face-to-face and online courses at the graduate level
Preferred:
- Experience serving on and chairing dissertation committees
- Experience serving as a methodologist on dissertations
- Track record of academic research, publishing, and presenting.
- Active membership in research academies such as the International Leadership Association, the Academy of Management, or related organizations.
