Job description

Responsible planning and execution of promotions and special events; coordination of contracts and riders for entertainment; coordination and execution audio visual needs for entertainment; media coordination and scheduling; social media planning and postings; scheduling and proofing email, mail and marketing materials; plan and participate in public relations activities; assist in purchasing of marketing supplies; tracking of expenses and budgets.

Schedule: Full time working Days, Evenings, Weekends, Holidays

Salary: $19.50/hour (including premium pay)

Essential Functions:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to all internal and external customers.
  • Coordinates details of casino promotions and giveaways including obtaining prizes, setting up kiosk and Konami builds, writing rules, creating promotional displays and facilitating drawings.
  • Coordinates details of special events and concerts including reviewing contracts, obtaining and purchasing event/rider needs, setup ticket sales and offers through Showare, creating event timelines and distributing to all departments, and works the events to ensure smooth implementation from setup to tear down.
  • Creates engaging social media calendars and content used to promote company goals and initiatives.
  • Monitors and responds to reviews and online questions and comments.
  • Proofs website content and all forms of marketing and public relations content.
  • Schedules internal and external advertising using on property marketing technology, puts up posters and displays and monitors all on property advertising and messaging to ensure messaging is correct and current.
  • Collaborates with other departments to create social media content, videos and plan special events/concerts/promotions.
  • Represent the company with a professional demeanor on and off property.
  • Must be available to work days, nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Attends all company required training.
  • Complies with Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission Rules and Regulations and any other local, state, or federal guidelines.
  • Must be able to obtain an Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission license and obtain proper certifications.
  • Meets company attendance requirements.
  • Assists various departments throughout the Resort as needed.
  • Resolves customer complaints and questions regarding promotions, events, direct mail, etc.
  • Research and document competitor promotions.
  • Track complimentary offerings issued for social, text and eclub giveaways.
  • Promote guests’ use of Resort Club cards by explaining club benefits and having cards made for players.
  • Assist with resolving player comments and/or complaints.
  • Maintain clear communication with department on status of pending projects.
  • Maintain confidentiality and discretion including but not limited to customer files and habits, company procedures, data or marketing profiles.
  • Represent RCGR at community events as needed.

Required:

  • Must be a self-starter.
  • Must have phone skills, computer skills, proofing and writing skills.
  • Must provide exceptional customer service to all internal and external guests.
  • Marketing, Public Relations or Journalism Degree a plus.
  • Must be organized
  • Strong computer skills including working with spreadsheets. Proficient in Excel, Word, and knowledge of any Casino Management System a plus.
  • Ability to multi-task and have exceptional organizational skills to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude towards customers, co-workers and other department staff.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • High level organizational skills and ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
