Job description

Program: Dispensary Department: Dispensary Reports To: Budmaster Store Manager, Co-Manager, Assistant Managers Supervises: NA Location: 750 Broadway, NY, NY 10003 Salary Range: $18.50-21.50/hr. FLSA: Non-Exempt  Position Overview / Summary Description The Dispensary Floating Associate is responsible for providing our customers with extraordinary experience(s) as well as maintaining inventory integrity in our BOH and Stock area. While the main work location for the role is BOH, we will train this role to fill-in or float in the following areas, as needed: retail front of house, delivery. Given the unique expertise of the role and special digital/data expertise, the floating associate will fill-in areas that have data/digital implications first: pick-up, dispatch, etc. Like all team members, the Floating Associates are expected to contribute to making their Dispensary a climate that encourages forward-thinking, embraces inclusion, and practices generosity of spirit. The Floating Associate will also assist the Management Team with the activities and operations of the store, while abiding by policies, procedures, and operational guidelines.  Essential Job Functions Primary: Categorize products in the POS system, ensure listings are accurate, and ensure data integrity. Prepare/stage back of house for daily sales process. Process weekly cycle counts. Work with management to predict and anticipate floating needs for the day/week. Comply with all BOH policies and procedures; recommends changes/improvements. When needed, assist in the front of the house – with a focus on pick-ups (but available for all registers). Provide knowledge, expertise, guidance, and a personalized experience to each customer by explaining the potential benefits of the Cannabis products offered. Ensures customer questions or concerns are resolved quickly, completely, and discreetly. Communicate any requests or unresolved concerns to management immediately. Add customers to loyalty database and offer memberships to all customers. When needed, assist with delivery – with a focus on dispatch and customer calls (but available for all delivery roles). Ensure inventory stock matches delivery requirements and pack orders. Follow scheduled route for daily deliveries and ensure products are delivered in a timely manner. Read maps or set GPS to determine and track daily route. Load and organize product inventory from Dispensary into your delivery bag. Always keep delivery bag organized, clean, and tidy. Make sure inventory matches manifest (accompanying shipping document). Scan or write in confirmation of delivery upon arrival to recipient client. · Collect signature and/or payments at delivery locales. Check in with Dispensary on delivery progress as needed. Report any accidents or transportation issues encountered while in route, to supervisors. Follow laws and regulations of the road always. Follow all company and state enforced safety requirements for loading and unloading product. Pick up and accurately inventory return shipments from the retail locations. Responsible for maintaining brand standards and store operations. (daily sweeping, mopping, organizing, sanitizing as needed throughout the duration of their shifts) Actively promote Housing Works mission at all stations and at all times. Perform all other duties as directed by supervisor and/or executive management Participate in Housing Works direct action (advocacy events); 3 in person and 4 alternative (email/phone zaps). Secondary: Be open to working in different departments within the dispensary as business needs require. Must be available on Fridays and as needed. Clean and organize the dispensary as directed by management. Ensure store is in compliance with all branding guidelines, including but not limited to signage, brochures, and promotional events. Promote a positive work-atmosphere by communicating with coworkers, supervisors, and customers cordially and effectively. Actively seek tasks within the dispensary and be a team player supporting Housing Work's mission and initiatives.  Other Functions Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending training meetings/sessions and through independent study. Be a Housing Works Ambassador by knowing and communicating the Mission Statement, outreaching to the community, and participating in a minimum of four direct actions per year aimed at ending the twin crises of homelessness and HIV/AIDS.  Education High School Diploma or equivalent  Qualifications/ Requirements Must stay current and adhere to all policies and regulations of the state cannabis agency. Must meet age requirement as outlined by state cannabis agency. Knowledge of marijuana strains, (indicas, sativas, hybrids), edibles, extracts, and current products on the market a plus. Able to accommodate scheduling that may include varied shifts, weekends, and holidays. Maintain regular and punctual attendance. Must be able to communicate effectively with customers and team members. Prior customer service experience in hospitality, pharmacy, customer services, or retail environment. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, POS and web-based email applications Advanced mathematical skills to include adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, and calculating percentages This role requires the candidate to be at least 21 years and older  Competencies Commitment to excellent customer service Experience/knowledge of cannabis industry preferred Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), interpersonal, and team-oriented skills Self-starting, self-motivating mindset Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail Strong interest in the HW mission to end the dual crises of homelessness and HIV/AIDS  Union Affiliations This position is included in a bargaining unit of Housing Works' New York City employees represented by a labor union known as the Retail Wholesale and Department Store Union ("RWDSU"). Accordingly, the RWDSU has the exclusive right to bargain over the terms and conditions of the employment related to this position, and this position may become covered by the terms of a collective bargaining agreement (a "CBA") between Housing Works and the RWDSU.  Essential Physical Demands/ Working Conditions Flexibility in schedule; weekends and holidays are required Frequently required to stand, walk, kneel, and bend for long periods of time Frequently required to lift a minimum of 40 pounds.
