As a Dispatcher in our Traffic Department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of local trucks and the coordination of shipping and receiving operations. Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and dispatch local truck drivers for daily deliveries and pickups, ensuring timely and efficient service.
  • Communicate schedules, destinations, and any changes or priorities to drivers throughout the day.
  • Schedule and maintain accurate delivery and pickup appointments for customers, updating information as needed.
  • Sort and organize shipping, delivery, pickup, and driver paperwork to ensure proper routing to relevant personnel or departments.
  • Answer incoming phone calls professionally and promptly, assisting customers, drivers, vendors, and internal staff or directing calls as appropriate.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with drivers regarding routes, delivery and pickup status, delays, and scheduling changes.
  • Review daily workload and assist in organizing truck assignments to support efficient operations.
  • Accurately enter and maintain dispatch information, appointment times, and related records.
  • Provide courteous and professional customer service regarding delivery and pickup scheduling.
  • Collaborate with shipping, receiving, warehouse, sales, and other departments to communicate scheduling information and resolve issues.
  • Respond to scheduling conflicts, delays, and other transportation issues, communicating changes to all relevant parties.
