Job description


Position Summary

The Service Coordinator/Dispatcher will work in a fast paced, ever-changing environment to organize the equipment and personnel required for each job to maximize efficiency while exceeding our exceptional safety and service standards. As the main point of contact between our operations team and our customers, the Service Coordinator will have exceptional communication skills with an eye for detail and understanding of the work performed within the district.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  • Management of all customer inquiries including the scheduling of customer requests based on scheduling parameters.

  • Generate all required work orders in OMS and schedule for executions.

  • Schedule equipment and personnel to complete work for external and internal clients.

  • Liaison with facility operations regarding waste requirements and supplies.

  • Support sales & field services team in the execution of work.

  • Communicate with internal and external customers effectively, instilling confidence that they are dealing with the industry leader.

  • Review driver as well as fleet equipment operating hours to ensure compliance with regulations and maximum safety and efficiency.

  • Review collection reports to ensure efficient route planning.

  • Review work orders continuously to ensure job scopes are accurate, detailed and sufficient for billing.

  • Active member of the after-hours response team.

  • Other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills with the ability to provide clear, detailed instructions.

  • Hazardous waste management industry experience a strong asset

  • Understanding of personnel and equipment needs would be considered an asset.

  • Class 1 or 3 driver license with prior commercial vehicle operations would be an asset.

  • Ability to multitask and problem solve in fast-paced, high-stress situations.

  • Business acumen with a passion for efficiency and continuous improvement.
