Job Summary

Federal Recycling & Waste Solutions is seeking an experienced and organized Office Manager to support daily administrative and operational functions at our Columbus, GA recycling facility. This role supports the General Manager by coordinating office operations, accounting activities, customer and supplier communication, fleet administration, and HR-related tasks.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. This position is onsite in Columbus, GA with minimal local travel required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees general office administration and provides support in a variety of areas and functions.
  • Maintains and assists with input information and ensures accuracy with supplier and customer shipments throughout each stage of the process.
  • Generates supplier/customer invoices, processes payments and follows up with collections. May handle accounts payable and customer invoicing.
  • Responsible for a variety of HR duties such as new staff orientation and onboarding. Trains new office staff and provides support to less experienced office staff members. May track vacations, timesheets, and payroll.
  • Coordinates all general administrative activities as necessary (e.g. scale operation, answering phones, etc.).
  • Assists General Manager, Account Representatives and other staff with supplier/customer information, subcontractors, safety and vendor information, miscellaneous paperwork and financial reporting.
  • Performs other office administrative duties, including but not limited to: ordering office supplies and other supplies/services. Handles site maintenance issues (e.g. pest control, etc.) and office equipment.
  • Acts as back-up for other office jobs such as the scale operation.
  • Assist with fleet operations such as dispatching drivers, including DOT information input and maintaining fuel cards. Ensure accurate driver information and recordkeeping.
  • May supervise, train and provide support for other office staff.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.
  • Must be involved in the company safety program and overall safety culture.

Education / Experience

  • Associate's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of office management or related experience
  • Two years of accounting, bookkeeping, and/or financial experience preferred
