Job description

Job Summary:
The Walt Disney Company is a global organization focused on building and advancing the technological backbone for Disney’s media business. As a Senior Product Software Engineer, you will help build the linear advertising platform and collaborate across teams while taking ownership of engineering challenges.
Responsibilities:
• Designing, implementing, and testing solutions to various engineering problems in a high-throughput, low-latency microservices environment.
• Enhancing systems’ observability with proper metrics, monitors, and alerts.
• Reading and understanding product user stories, and then translating them into actionable tasks.
• Taking ownership of one or more of the team's domain areas.
• Understanding and using automated tools (AI) while adhering to company policy.
• Available for On-Call rotations based on the team’s escalation policy and support schedule.
Qualifications:
Required:
• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Proficiency with Java, Spring Boot and ORMs
• Experience with ReactJS or similar frontend frameworks, with the ability to quickly pick up new technologies.
• Relational databases, such as MySQL or Postgres
• NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB and Redis.
• Demonstrable analytical / problem-solving skills.
• Great communication, collaboration skills, and a strong teamwork ethic with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Cloud platforms such as AWS.
• Modern DevOps tools such as Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Data Streaming Mechanisms such as Apache Kafka, Kinesis, and/or SNS/SQS.
• Familiarity with AI Coding tools such as Cursor, Claude Code and/or Github Copilot along with Python programming language.
• Develop, refine, and evaluate prompts and workflows for LLM-based APIs.
• Build and support agentic workflows, including multi-step, tool-using agents and multiagent orchestration patterns (e.g., MCP, agent-to-agent).
• Domain knowledge in the Ad Tech industry.
• BS or MS in Computer Science / Engineering or relevant work experience.
