Job description

SUMMARY
The dishwasher maintains the kitchen’s sanitation and its supplies/equipment. S/he is responsible for the organization of kitchen supplies and equipment maintaining a neat and orderly working condition
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Cleans china, glassware, and flatware in a sanitary and efficient manner
  • Places clean dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment in storage areas
  • Maintains dry and clean kitchen floors, garbage areas, and loading dock
  • Ensures that kitchen equipment (ovens, refrigerators, exhaust hoods, stainless steel) is cleaned and polished on a regular cleaning cycle
  • Stocks supplies such as utensils in serving stations, cupboards, or refrigerators
  • Cleans and polishes banquet equipment
  • Maintains a clean staff dining area and restrooms
  • Cleans and maintains garbage receptacles in an orderly manner
  • Removes and cleans rubber floor mats
  • Sweeps or scrubs floors
  • Loads or unloads trucks that deliver or pick up food for offsite banquets
  • Maintains inventories of necessary chemicals and cleaning supplies
  • All other appropriate duties as assigned by the Sous or Executive Chef
