Motor City Seafood Company is seeking a reliable and motivated Dishwasher/Janitor to join our dynamic team in Highland Park. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in our seafood processing facility, including dishwashing, cleaning restrooms, breakrooms, and offices. This role is essential for ensuring a safe and hygienic environment for all employees. Application ProcessFill out application online.Answer online questionnaire.Applicants will be contacted by the hiring manager for that department.Please do not call or stop by the office.  Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAs a Janitor, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean and sanitary environment for our employees and ensuring the efficient operation of our dishwashing area. Duties include, but not limited to:Dishwashing:Clean and sanitize all containers, utensils, and equipment used in the seafood processing facility.Ensure proper storage of cleaned items.Load and unload dishwashing machines and operate them efficiently.Hand wash items that cannot be placed in the dishwasher.Sweep and mop dishwashing area regularly.Remove trash and maintain cleanliness of the facility as needed.Follow all safety and guidelines to ensure a healthy work environment.Collaborate with the Processing staff to ensure smooth workflow and assist when required. Facility Cleaning:Clean and sanitize restrooms, including sinks, toilets, and floors.Maintain cleanliness of breakrooms, including wiping down surfaces, cleaning appliances, and removing trash.Clean office spaces, including sweeping, mopping, and emptying trash bins.Ensure all cleaning supplies are adequately stocked and report any supply shortages to the Facility Manager. General Maintenance:Perform routine checks and maintenance tasks as required.Assist with waste management, including proper disposal of seafood waste.Respond promptly to any cleaning emergencies.Work ScheduleThe Janitor is a full-time position with a work schedule from 5am until 1pm. Weekend availability is required. Pay & BenefitsStarting wage of $18/hour.Paid Vacation and Personal Time after 90 days.Employee discounts on seafood products.Competitive health benefits available. Work Environment & Physical DemandsThe Janitor will work on site at our new state of the art production facility in Highland Park, Michigan. Work is performed in a seafood processing facility, which will include exposure to cold temperatures and seafood odors. Physical demands include but are not limited to:Ability to work in a cold controlled environment of <40 degrees Fahrenheit.Ability to work in a wet/dry conditions.Exposure to FDA cleaning chemicals.Ability to operate dishwashing equipment.Physical stamina to stand for long periods of time, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks. Required QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred. Prior experience working as a dishwasher in a fast-paced environment, preferably in a food processing facility or commercial kitchen.Knowledge of proper dishwashing techniques, including operating dishwashing machines and hand washing delicate items. Familiarity with safety and sanitation regulations in a food processing environment.Familiarity with safety and sanitation regulations in a food processing environment.  Required Skills and AbilitiesAbility to work in a team and communicate with fellow staff,Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain cleanliness and organization in the dishwashing area.Ability to properly operate, breakdown, and clean dishwashing equipment.Ability to work in a face-paced environment.Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Additional RequirementsAdhere to the policies and procedures outlined in the employee policy manual and any applicable signed agreements and work rules.Cooperates with all management and staff at MCSC.Follows all OSHA rules and regulations, as they apply to the position.Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays. Adhere to all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
