At Garden Spot Village our dining serves do more than just take orders and serve meals, they help create a warm, welcoming experience for residents, other staff and members of the community. Along with delivering food and keeping the dining area running smoothly, they build relationships by learning preferences, building connections, and making sure everyone feels comfortable and cared for. It’s a mix of hospitality, teamwork, and genuine human connection. 

What You’ll Do

  • Comply with established policies, procedures, and standards, including the Compliance Program/Code of Conduct
  • Follow Residents’ Rights policies at all times
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding all resident information, conditions, and family matters
  • Follow federal, state, and local regulations governing food handling, storage, and work environment
  • Comply with established dietary standards of food safety
  • Prepare condiments, desserts, garnishes, salads, and beverages
  • Serve residents’ meals in various dining venues
  • Greet residents, staff, and customers; take food orders and serve meals following dining venue protocols and service standards
  • Handle leftovers properly as assigned
  • Assist with set-up and service of special events
  • Wash and sanitize work stations and café tables
  • Restock work stations and café service areas
  • Assist with dishwashing, pots, and pans
  • Meet meal schedules and maintain timely service
  • Work cooperatively with food service staff and other departments
  • Attend in-service training programs for Dining Services employees
  • Observe infection control procedures related to Dining Services
  • Perform quality assurance duties as assigned
  • Collaborate with residents, resident representatives, staff, physicians, consultants, and ancillary service providers
  • Perform all duties efficiently, timely, and professionally
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

  • Ability to read menus and understand measurements and categories of food for special diets
  • Efficient, organized, and detail-oriented
  • Treat residents with kindness, cheerfulness, and respect
  • Willingness to train and participate in ongoing staff development programs
  • Identify with and promote the Mission and Philosophy of Garden Spot Communities
  • Must work scheduled weekends and holidays

Additional Information

This position is part-time 2-3 days per week 3:30pm-8:00pm plus every other weekend!
