We are seeking Elementary Teachers for the 20262027 school year who desire to serve in a Christ-centered environment alongside supportive leadership and a unified, encouraging team.
Job Overview
An Elementary Teacher at Community Christian Academy will
  • Work within a flexible Elementary school program and provide a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth
  • Establish effective rapport with students
  • Motivate students to develop skills, attitude and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for upper school education in accordance with each students ability
  • Establish good relationships with parents and other staff members.
Qualifications
  • Must have a faithful testimony of salvation by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.
  • Must believe that the Bible is Gods Word and standard for faith and daily living.
  • Must be in support of Community Christian Academy's Statement of Faith (ccacougars.net/statement-of-faith)
  • Show by example the importance of prayer, Scripture memorization and study, witnessing and unity in Christian fellowship.
  • Follows the biblical principles of restoration in dealing with students, administration and staff.
  • Encourages and directs in Christian service activity.
  • Experience working with elementary school students is preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
Responsibilities
Duties of this job include, but are not limited to:
  • Teaches reading, language arts, writing/penmanship, social studies, mathematics, science and health to students in a classroom utilizing course of study adopted by the Administration, and other appropriate learning activities.
  • Develops lesson plans and instructional material and provides individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student.
  • Uses a variety of instruction strategies, such as inquiry, group discussion, lecture, discovery, etc.
  • Translates lesson plans into learning experiences to best utilize the available time for instruction.
  • Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.
  • Evaluates students academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records, and prepares progress reports.
  • Communicates with parents through email and other means to discuss students progress and interpret the school program.
  • Identifies student needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students solve health, attitude, and learning problems.
  • Creates an effective environment for learning through functional and attractive displays, bulletin boards and interest centers.
  • Assist in selecting books and instructional aids; maintains required inventory records.
  • Supervises students in out-of-classroom activities during the school day.
  • Administers group standardized tests in accordance with IOWA Achievement Test requirements.
  • Participates in maintaining cleanliness/order of classroom, snack/lunch area on the large playground.
