Job Summary

Candidate must have relevant experience of 3 to 6 Years.

The role focuses on providing end-to-end database administration, optimization, and support for Oracle databases hosted on-premises and on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), ensuring high availability, performance, security, and compliance for business-critical applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, and administer Oracle databases across on-premises and Oracle Cloud environments, including creation, cloning, and migration of databases.
  • Manage and optimize Oracle Core DBA activities such as performance tuning, query optimization, indexing strategies, and resource management.
  • Implement and maintain backup and recovery strategies using RMAN and other Oracle-native tools to ensure minimal data loss and rapid restoration.
  • Monitor database health, capacity, and performance, proactively identifying and resolving issues to maintain optimal uptime and reliability.
  • Perform database patching, upgrades, and security hardening in line with organizational and vendor best practices.
  • Support database migrations to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, including assessment, planning, execution, and post-migration stabilization.
  • Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and security teams to design scalable and resilient database architectures.
  • Troubleshoot complex database incidents and provide root cause analysis and preventive measures.
  • Implement and manage high availability and disaster recovery solutions such as Data Guard, RAC, and other Oracle technologies where applicable.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and runbooks for database operations.
  • Provide consultation and best-practice guidance to stakeholders on database design, capacity planning, and performance considerations.
  • Support audits and compliance activities by ensuring database configurations and operations adhere to organizational policies and regulatory requirements.

  • Solid experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or similar cloud platforms for hosting and managing Oracle databases.
  • Proficiency in Oracle database administration, including installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades.
  • Strong skills in performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting using Oracle tools and views.
  • Experience with backup and recovery using RMAN and implementation of disaster recovery strategies.
  • Knowledge of high availability solutions such as Data Guard, RAC, and related Oracle technologies.
  • Understanding of database security, user management, roles, privileges, and encryption features.
  • Familiarity with scripting (such as Shell, Python, or PL/SQL) to automate routine DBA tasks.
  • Relevant Oracle certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional, Oracle Cloud certifications) are an added advantage.
