Job description

Role: DevOps Engineer/ OCI(Oracle Cloud Infrastructure) Engineer

Location: Malvern, PA(Hybrid- 3 days a week onsite & must be willing to relocate and be onsite on day 1)

Duration: 12 months(may extend based on the performance)

Responsibilities

OCI Architecture, Engineering & Operations:

• Infrastructure Engineer with deep technical expertise in OCI (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure) and an expert problem solver, proven to build and maintain Oracle OCI to support existing production infrastructure.

• Ability to support OCI Network and Security design for complex architectures to support high availability and disaster recovery (DR) requirements.

  • Whitelist IPs and URLs across clouds.
  • Research, establish and troubleshoot connectivity within Oracle cloud and external to Oracle cloud

• Ability to balance between production support, BAU enhancements and another project that is currently underway to re-architect the OCI with a goal of building a secondary region from scratch to fulfill company’s security mandates and implement Disaster Recovery (DR) for a financial company.

Deployment & Platform Expertise:

• Experience in deploying multi-tier applications on OCI IaaS and PaaS services including IDCS/IAM, Databases, Compute Storage, Backup Network Security and Load Balancers including a demonstrated ability to leverage those services to provide better application performance security and availability.

Cloud Security & Compliance:

• Knowledge of cloud security controls including tenancy isolation, encryption at rest, encryption in transit, key management, vulnerability assessments, and application firewalls. Operational Excellence,

Automation & Monitoring:

• Maintain mission-critical OCI daily while ensuring the highest standards of security, compliance, and operational excellence ○ E.g., Monitor OCI alerts such as access controls alerts, threshold alarms and investigate why, for example, CPU utilization is abnormal or an instance is down and take necessary action in a timely manner so there is no impact on development work or production.

• Implement custom health checks, automated alerting workflows, and proactive failure detection systems.

• Support and enhance monitoring jobs that send logs to SEIM tool.

• Build and maintain complex security controls with custom guardrails, organizational policies, and automated compliance frameworks

  • Ability to provide least privileged access when working with OCI resources.
  • Implement ingress/egress rules, Security Lists, IAM policies, IAM Domains
  • Ability to create automated alerts for OCI monitoring
  • Basic to intermediate expertise around shell scripting/python to understand the existing monitoring jobs and make enhancements.

 

Qualifications

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with OCI FastConnect is a plus

• Experience setting up and supporting CI/CD pipelines with GitHub integration is a plus
