Job Description
Cortina Solutions is seeking a high-impact Mid-Level Cybersecurity Engineer to support the execution of a complex contract supporting the Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division (NSWC PCD). You must be ready to own your technical domain, executing both cyber event analysis/incident response and producing RMF/ATO documentation that shapes the future of naval warfare technology. The ideal candidate will be expected to engineer with Excellence, serve with Integrity, and approach every problem with a drive to Get Things Done.
The Cybersecurity Engineer provides technical cybersecurity and IT support for Department of the Navy information systems, ensuring compliance, security, and operational readiness. This role supports the implementation, maintenance, monitoring, and validation of security controls across enterprise IT environments and simulation/test networks in accordance with DOD and Navy policies.
Responsibilities include providing cybersecurity and IT support in compliance with SECNAV M-5239.2 for IT-2 Cybersecurity Workforce (CSWF) roles; maintaining required certifications and training; conducting cyber event analysis, log correlation, and vulnerability assessments; updating RMF artifacts and managing eMASS/POA&Ms; providing security inputs to software development; and supporting ATO documentation and security controls. The position utilizes DOD-approved cybersecurity tools, including DISA STIG Viewer, DISA SCAP Tool, Tenable ACAS, and McAfee HBSS/ePolicy Orchestrator.
Job Requirements
  • 3-7+ years of relevant civilian or military professional experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or other relevant field of study.
  • CompTIA Security+ certification.
  • Experience with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) accreditation and authorization process.
  • Hands-on experience with cyber event monitoring, log analysis, or vulnerability assessments.
  • Direct experience with achieving and maintaining DOD Authority to Operate (ATO) certifications.
  • Hands-on experience with DOD cybersecurity tools, including DISA STIG Viewer, DISA SCAP Tool, Tenable ACAS, and McAfee HBSS/ePolicy Orchestrator.
  • Active DOD TS/SCI Clearance.

Preferred Requirements
  • Advanced degree in a related field of study.
  • Experience working in classified environments, particularly within Navy/DoD simulation and experimentation labs.
  • Experience with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk), log analysis, and incident response frameworks.
  • CompTIA CySA+, CEH, or similar intermediate-level certification(s).
