Job description

DIRECTV is seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Programmatic Partnerships to lead our efforts in building and managing strategic collaborations across DIRECTV Advertising. This key leadership role will focus on managing our Account Management team to drive revenue across DIRECTV's programmatic products working directly with our strategic key accounts including buyers at agencies, client direct, and DSPs to activate demand. The Director will play an integral role in supporting the DIRECTV sales team with planning, strategizing, executing, and monitoring all programmatic deals. The Director will serve as our programmatic subject matter expert and lead our Account Management team in being our partners' day-to-day contact providing superior customer service leading to revenue retention, growth, and renewals.
Here's what you'll do:
  • Execute optimization strategy across SSP and DSP direct programmatic, private marketplace, and programmatic guaranteed deals.
  • Build joint business plans with priority DSPs to increase spend, expand inventory access (inclusive of CTV, Pause Ad, and DOOH), and improve the company's positioning within programmatic marketplaces.
  • Work closely with the Programmatic Performance Management team to ensure we maximize yield, fill, win rates, and overall demand across a vast library of DSP marketplace deals.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, and Inventory teams to translate demand partner objectives and market opportunities into actionable revenue strategies, product enhancements, and go-to-market initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities with emerging DSPs to expand our catalogue of marketplace deals.
  • Partner closely with Direct Sales and Programmatic Account Management to create complementary strategies between Direct IO and Programmatic Channels.
  • Develop internal reporting and insights that clearly communicate DSP performance and revenue opportunities.
  • Serve as a strategic liaison with SSP partners, gathering market intelligence to inform internal recommendations and strategy across our holding company, agency, and client-direct partnerships.
  • Analyze market trends, competitive activity, and industry developments to inform commercial strategy and partnership investments.
  • Stay ahead of CTV programmatic trends including unified auction dynamics, supply path optimization (SPO), and Agentic Buying Opportunities.
  • Represent DIRECTV Advertising at industry conferences, client events, and trade organizations to strengthen market presence and identify emerging partnership opportunities.

What you'll need to be successful:
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred.
  • 5 - 7 years required, 7+ years of experience desired in digital advertising, programmatic account management, or related roles.
  • Expertise in working with SSPs, DSPs, ad servers, and other optimization platforms.
  • Proven track record of growing accounts by forging strong relationships with clients, understanding their objectives, and recommending best strategies.
  • Outstanding troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities for data driven decision making.
  • Ability to work well with others and collaborate cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong experience working in MS Office and Excel including pivot tables and manipulation of large data sets.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills at the executive level.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, while paying close attention to detail.
  • End-to-end knowledge of the advertising sales process.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts for various stakeholders.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience presenting to and influencing senior leadership.

The Base Salary range displayed below reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for the position and work location(s) listed in the job posting US Labor Market Zone(s). Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

N4: $147,919 - $221,818
Please note that the salary ranges reflect base salary only and do not include bonus or benefits - when you consider all of these together, it represents a pretty impressive total compensation package.
