What You'll Do

• Provide direct patient care in a 24-bed PCU unit, managing a diverse patient population
• Monitor and titrate medications like Cardene, Cardizem, Insulin, Heparin, Neo, and Levophed (manager approval required for some)
• Support patient care for conditions such as AFIB/RVR, DKA, HTN, COPD, ARF, postsurgical care, and stroke management
• Utilize EMR systems (Meditech Expanse) for charting and documentation
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including hospitalists, RT, OT, PT, & ST staff
• Manage clinical equipment including IV pumps (Alaris), Pyxis medication dispensing, and telemetry monitoring
• Follow unit protocols and assist with patient assessments, treatments, and documentation
• Work in a fast-paced, critical care environment with a patient ratio of approximately 1:3 for RN

What You Need Required:

• Valid RN license in Louisiana or applicable state
• BLS, ACLS, NIH certifications (or able to obtain)
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU or PCU experience
• Ability to pass EKG competency exam before starting

Preferred:

• Experience with titratable drips and complex patient management
• Familiarity with chest tube management, tracheostomies, peritoneal dialysis, CSF drains
• Experience working night shifts in critical care
