What You'll Do
- Provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients in a newly established Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit
- Monitor patient vital signs and symptoms, respond to changes, and escalate as needed
- Administer medications, including IV therapy, wound management, and pain control
- Support patient care needs related to post-op, medical conditions, and complex diagnoses like CHF or COPD
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including hospitalists, PT, OT, ST, RT, and phlebotomy staff
- Maintain thorough documentation in Meditech Expanse EMR system
- Assist with unit float coverage as needed, supporting other Med/Surg areas within the hospital
- Follow infection control and safety protocols, including proper badge and apparel usage
What You Need
- Valid Louisiana RN license
- 2+ years of acute care RN experience
- BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
- Ability to pass an EKG competency exam
- Strong wound management, patient assessment, and IV skills
- Adaptability to hospital float policies and unit workflow
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
