A growing precision manufacturing company in Orange County is seeking an experienced Swiss CNC Machinist / Programmer to join its team. Responsibilities
- Program, set up, and operate Swiss CNC lathes to manufacture precision components
- Develop, edit, and optimize CNC programs for improved efficiency, cycle time, and quality
- Edit G-code and M-code directly at the machine as needed
- Perform complete machine setups and first article inspections
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T specifications
- Operate Swiss CNC machines including Tornos, Citizen, or comparable equipment
- Monitor production while maintaining quality and efficiency standards
- Troubleshoot machining, tooling, setup, maintenance, and quality issues
- Perform tooling changes, offset adjustments, and preventative machine maintenance
- Conduct in-process and final inspections using precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, pin gauges, microscopes, and optical comparators
- Complete production and quality documentation accurately
- Train and mentor machinists and machine operators
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and delivery
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of Swiss CNC machining experience
- Proven experience programming, setting up, and operating Swiss CNC machines
- Strong experience with Fanuc controls
- Ability to edit G-code and M-code
- Excellent blueprint reading skills and knowledge of GD&T
- Experience using precision inspection equipment
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Tornos Deco Swiss machines
- Experience with Citizen Swiss machines
- Experience using PartMaker or similar CAM software
- Experience in aerospace, medical device, or other high-precision manufacturing environments
- Familiarity with Siemens or other CNC control platforms
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift
- Frequent use of hands for machine operation, tooling changes, and inspections
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail
