Key responsibilities

  • Own the Ticketing System by building, managing, and maintaining ticketed events in TIXR.

  • Generate revenue by actively selling tickets, prospecting for new business, and closing sales to meet personal sales goals.

  • Support the sales team by processing orders, managing inventory, solving ticketing issues, and assisting with administrative responsibilities.

Job description

Manager, Ticket Operations
About the Mud MonstersThe Mississippi Mud Monsters are a professional baseball team in the Frontier League, playing at Trustmark Park in Pearl, Mississippi.
Our business goes well beyond the games on the field. Trustmark Park is a year-round entertainment venue, hosting Mud Monsters baseball, The Southern Lights holiday festival, group outings, special events and community experiences throughout the year.
We believe great ticketing is more than processing orders or scanning barcodes. It is one of the engines that drives our business.
That is why this position is both operations and sales.
We are looking for someone who can own the systems, inventory and box office that keep our ticket business organized - while also building relationships, selling tickets and directly generating revenue.
Who We're Looking For
We're looking for a ticketing professional who understands that great operations and great sales are connected.
You can build an event, manage inventory, troubleshoot a ticketing issue, pull a clean sales report and keep a box office running smoothly.
But you can also pick up the phone.
You are comfortable prospecting, talking with businesses and organizations, building relationships, presenting ticket options and asking for the sale.
This is a hands-on management position. You will support the sales team and make the entire ticketing operation better, but you will also carry your own sales goals and be responsible for producing revenue.
If you are looking for a position where you simply administer the ticketing system while everyone else sells, this probably is not the right fit.
If you like being the person who understands how everything works - and you still want your own number on the sales board - we should talk.
What You'll Be Doing
  • Own the Ticketing System: Build, manage and maintain ticketed events in TIXR, including Mud Monsters games, The Southern Lights and other special events.
  • Generate Revenue: Carry personal sales goals and actively sell season tickets, ticket plans, groups and other ticket products. Prospect for new business, build relationships and close sales while earning commission on your production.
  • Support the Sales Team: Work closely with account executives and other sellers to process orders, manage inventory, build offers, solve ticketing issues and make it easier for the team to sell.
  • Manage Inventory: Maintain accurate seating inventory, holds, ticket products, pricing and availability across events.
  • Lead the Box Office: Oversee box office operations on game days and event days, including staffing, training, customer service and problem solving.
  • Take Care of the Customer: Handle will-call, exchanges, reprints, account questions, premium service requests and other ticketing needs with professionalism and urgency.
  • Own the Numbers: Produce accurate reporting on ticket sales, revenue, attendance and inventory. Help leadership and the sales team understand what is selling, what is not and where opportunities exist.
  • Build an Upsell Culture: Train and encourage box office and game-day staff to recognize opportunities to improve the fan experience while generating additional ticket revenue.
  • Keep the Details Clean: Assist with payment follow-up, ticket fulfillment, reconciliation, donation requests and other administrative responsibilities tied to the ticketing operation.

What We Need From You
  • 2-3 years of experience in ticketing, box office operations, sports sales or a closely related field.
  • Experience working within a ticketing platform. TIXR experience is a plus, but not required.
  • A sales-driven mindset and comfort carrying an individual revenue goal.
  • Demonstrated ability to prospect, build relationships and close business.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort working with ticket sales, revenue and attendance data.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to solve problems calmly and professionally.
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends, holidays and other hours required by the sports and entertainment schedule.

What Success Looks Like
Success in this role means the ticketing operation is accurate, organized and dependable.
It means the sales team has the tools, inventory and information it needs to succeed.
It means fans receive great service from the moment they purchase a ticket through the moment they enter the ballpark.
And it means you are producing revenue yourself.
This is not an operations position with sales added on the side. Both parts of the job matter.
We want someone who takes pride in running a great ticket operation and understands that, in our business, everyone has a role in driving revenue.
Perks of the Swamp
  • Competitive base salary plus commission on personal sales
  • Health insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Unlimited PTO with manager approval
  • Mud Monsters apparel and team benefits
  • The opportunity to play a major role in the growth of professional baseball and year-round entertainment at Trustmark Park

If you can keep the ticketing operation tight, make the sales team better and still go out and create revenue of your own, we'd love to hear from you.
