Job description

Director of Partnerships

The Director of Partnerships will lead the development, execution, and performance management of BD Specimen Management's global and U.S. partnerships across Home Collection and Instrument Company Liaison activities. This role is accountable for identifying, structuring, and managing high‐impact partnerships with laboratories, IDNs (Integrated Delivery Networks), DTC companies, instrument companies (e.g., Roche, Abbott, Danaher, Siemens Healthineers, Sysmex, Thermo Fisher), and other ecosystem players to accelerate adoption, enable scale, and establish BD as the coordinating force in Home Collection. The role requires strategic relationship‐building, strong commercial judgment, and operator‐level execution within a highly matrixed, global environment.

This role serves as the primary owner of BD's Home Collection partnerships, working across corporate, business unit, regional, and functional teams to translate strategy into executable, value‐creating relationships. The Director of Partnerships shapes the global partnerships strategy while enabling effective regional execution, ensuring consistency in approach, economics, governance, and performance measurement across markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify, structure, negotiate, and manage strategic partnerships across the Home Collection ecosystem to drive market access, adoption, and scale.
  • Lead the negotiation of complex partnership agreements, aligning incentives, economics, governance, and execution responsibilities.
  • Develop and maintain a global Home Collection partnerships roadmap aligned with corporate strategy, regional priorities, and functional dependencies.
  • Act as the internal orchestrator across commercial, regulatory, legal, finance, supply chain, and regional teams to enable successful partnership execution.
  • Monitor partnership performance through defined KPIs and dashboards, proactively addressing risks and opportunities.
  • Provide executive‐level updates and recommendations on partnership strategy, performance, and key trade‐offs.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or other advanced degree strongly preferred.
  • Proven experience leading and orchestrating complex partnerships within healthcare ecosystems (medical devices, diagnostics, laboratories, health systems, or DTC healthcare).
  • Demonstrated success developing a single global partnership strategy with region‐specific execution.
  • Hands‐on experience structuring co‐development, co‐regulatory, and co‐commercial arrangements, e.g. product integration, 510(k) submission, channel/reseller, and manufacturing‐based partnership models.
  • Experience negotiating and managing multi‐party and/or cross‐border partnerships, enabling effective country‐level execution.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen related to partnership economics.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a highly matrixed, global organization.
  • Track record of owning partnership objectives and KPIs, with experience building dashboards and executive review cadences to ensure partnerships deliver measurable value and strategic impact.
