Job description

Ready to lead the mechanical heartbeat of automotive test?

Can you picture launching a new product line where your test fixtures, hydraulic presses, and automated cells prove out every critical requirement—on time and on budget? At Dynamic Manufacturing, Inc., that’s the challenge you’ll take on as you guide teams, set standards, and turn ideas into robust, safe, and maintainable test systems.

Your mission
  • Scope and estimate level of effort and cost for new product launches, continuous improvement efforts, and new launches within existing platforms
  • Own new product line launches while coordinating projects that span multiple departments
  • Act as technical lead and mentor for Engineers and Associate Engineers
  • Be the connective tissue across disciplines: Controls & Instrumentation, Software Controls, Product, Manufacturing, Quality, Maintenance, and Calibration
  • Partner with customer engineers and travel to customer sites as needed
  • Design, implement, and maintain the tools that make testing possible:
    • Automotive testing fixtures and advanced component testers
    • Pneumatic and hydraulic presses/testers with tailored fixturing and control
    • Collaborative/industrial robotics and automation projects with motion control
    • Safety architecture for pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems
    • Standards and reference architectures for electrical/mechanical designs and pneumatic/hydraulic schematics
    • Project management artifacts plus preventive and predictive maintenance documentation
  • Diagnose equipment condition and recommend repair, redesign, or rebuild strategies
What it takes to thrive
  • Engineering degree (B.S. or higher) or 8–11 years of directly relevant experience
  • CAD fluency: Inventor, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA; advanced GD detailed 2D/3D models
  • 3D assembly simulation and FEA to validate and optimize designs
  • PLM to manage designs from concept through service and replacement
  • DFM mindset; informed material selection for metals and plastics
  • Hands-on prototyping; deep understanding of mechanical systems
  • Structural analysis capabilities to ensure integrity and safety
  • Knowledge across hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical domains
  • Experience designing automation and robotic cells
  • A knack for understanding equipment behavior with sparse documentation
  • Clear communication, Lean thinking, and continuous improvement orientation
  • Project management discipline; precise technical writing and documentation
  • Tenacious troubleshooting and problem-solving
What you’ll enjoy
  • An engaging work environment
  • Opportunities for advancement
  • Tuition reimbursement
  • Competitive pay (we pay weekly!)
  • Comprehensive benefits package & 401(k) match
  • Generous paid time off, and more
