We are seeking an experienced and strategic Quality Director to lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of our quality systems and operational excellence initiatives. This leadership role is responsible for defining and executing a comprehensive quality strategy at our Toronto Site, aligned with company goals, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.

The Quality Director will play a critical role in driving quality culture across the organization, strengthening customer confidence, and ensuring that manufacturing operations consistently meet the highest standards of performance and compliance.

This role requires a leader who combines strong technical expertise, strategic thinking, and people leadership to guide quality engineering teams and collaborate cross-functionally with operations, engineering, and senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Strategy & Leadership

  • Lead the development and execution of the Site's quality and continuous improvement strategy, aligned with business objectives and industry best practices.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of quality assurance professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and professional development.
  • Establish and maintain quality standards, policies, and procedures to meet regulatory requirements and exceed customer expectations.
  • Drive a culture of Total Quality Management (TQM) and continuous improvement across the organization.

Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement

  • Identify, resolve, and prevent complex quality issues and deviations through collaboration with production, engineering, and other departments.
  • Conduct mentor-driven Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Develop and track quality performance indicators (KPIs) and report results to senior management.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to improve quality, efficiency, and operational performance.

Compliance & Quality Systems

  • Oversee audit systems to assess compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure alignment with industry standards and maintain the organization's regulatory compliance posture.
  • Collaborate with procurement to evaluate and monitor supplier quality, ensuring consistent performance and reliability.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Partner with operations, engineering, and business leaders to align quality strategies with overall company objectives.
  • Represent quality leadership internally and externally in support of customer, regulatory, and operational requirements.

Management Responsibilities

  • Lead the Quality Engineering / Quality Function across multiple operational areas.
  • Provide leadership across multiple processes and functions, demonstrating broad organizational understanding.
  • Interface cross-functionally as a member of the plant leadership team.
  • Liaise with corporate and oversight deliverables to meet corporate requirements.
  • Manage Engineers, Supervisors/Managers, and Engineering Technicians/Professionals.
  • Drive performance using Yield and RMA KPIs, guiding teams to achieve operational targets and continuous improvement.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Education

  • Advanced Management or Technical Degree preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical or engineering discipline required

Experience

  • Minimum 7+ years of engineering leadership experience, or
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant degree/certification with 7-10 years of progressive engineering leadership experience

The expected base annual compensation range, in CAD, for this position is as follows:

$128,887 - $226,663
