Job description

Endocrinology Medical Director

Location: Remote (U.S.-based)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Reports To: Chief Medical Officer / Executive Leadership

About Us

We are a rapidly growing healthcare organization that delivers high-quality, integrated medical and mental health services to patients in long-term care. Our model emphasizes proactive, coordinated care, strong interdisciplinary collaboration, and measurable improvements in patient outcomes—without adding operational burden to facility partners.

As we continue to expand specialty support across our clinical programs, we are seeking an experienced Endocrinology Medical Director to provide clinical leadership, strategic guidance, and subject-matter expertise across the organization.

Position Overview

The Endocrinology Medical Director is a non-patient-facing, remote leadership role responsible for overseeing endocrinology-related clinical standards, protocols, and program development. This role partners closely with executive leadership, medical directors, and interdisciplinary clinical teams to ensure evidence-based, high-quality endocrine care is integrated across our care model.

This position is ideal for a board-certified endocrinologist seeking a strategic, advisory, and impact-driven role without direct patient care responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the organizational clinical authority for endocrinology, providing expert guidance on endocrine-related conditions, care pathways, and best practices

  • Develop, review, and update clinical protocols, guidelines, and quality standards related to endocrine care (e.g., diabetes, thyroid disorders, metabolic conditions)

  • Advise leadership on program development, service line expansion, and clinical strategy related to endocrinology

  • Support interdisciplinary teams by offering consultation, education, and clinical insight (non-patient specific)

  • Partner with quality, operations, and compliance teams to support outcomes tracking, performance improvement, and regulatory alignment

  • Participate in clinical governance activities, including chart review frameworks, peer review guidance, and risk mitigation strategies

  • Contribute to clinician education initiatives, training materials, and best-practice resources

  • Stay current on evolving endocrine guidelines, research, and regulatory trends, translating them into practical organizational guidance

Qualifications
  • MD or DO required

  • Board Certified in Endocrinology (required)

  • Active, unrestricted U.S. medical license (multi-state licensure preferred)

  • Minimum 5–7 years of clinical experience in endocrinology

  • Prior experience in medical leadership, clinical oversight, or advisory roles strongly preferred

  • Experience working with advanced practice providers and interdisciplinary care teams

  • Strong understanding of value-based care, population health, or post-acute/long-term care models preferred

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Comfortable working in a remote, collaborative, and fast-growing organization

What We Offer
  • Fully remote position with flexible scheduling

  • No direct patient care or on-call responsibilities

  • Competitive compensation package

  • Opportunity to shape and scale endocrine care delivery at a national level

  • Collaborative leadership environment with a strong focus on quality, outcomes, and clinician support

  • Meaningful, system-level impact without the demands of traditional clinical practice

Why This Role

This role offers the opportunity to apply deep clinical expertise in a strategic, high-impact way, influencing care delivery at scale while maintaining work-life balance. It is well-suited for physicians interested in leadership, innovation, and improving outcomes beyond the exam room.
