NCA1040 5 East- Oncology Dialysis

Schedule: Day Shift. 36 hours weekly. 6:00a-6:15p.

About the Position

Under the supervision and guidance of a Registered Nurse (RN) the Nursing Care Assistant is responsible to provide daily services involving basic care for patients, processing physicians' orders, answering the telephone and intercom, performing a variety of clerical duties and clinical tasks as well as other assigned unit duties. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served.

Overview of Responsibilities

  • Proficient in using computer and software programs.
  • Uses accurate medical terminology.
  • Properly operates unit communication equipment.
  • Follows Code Procedures.
  • Adheres strictly to Infection Control Policy, with an emphasis on hand hygiene.
  • Compliant with the attendance policy.
  • Calls staff as directed.
  • Transports patients.

  • Provides best-practice by following hospital standards of care, policies and procedures and regulatory requirements.

Education & Experience

  • Minimum education required: High school diploma, or equivalent.

Licensure & Certification

Must be willing to obtain Basic Life Support (BLS).
